Web Design
Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication
I won a contest to redesign and build the website for the online Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication. The new site uses XHTML and extensive CSS, particularly to create navigation bars and dynamic page effects. The site went live in January 2005.

In January 2006, I redesigned and rebuilt my website (the original version went live in fall 2003). My pervasive design goal is to render the site attractive and usable by keeping it clean and simple. This is my general design philosophy.
User Guide/Help Documentation for the Variations2: IU Digital Music Library
I helped to design and implement the online user guide/help system for v1.0 - 2.1.1 of the Variations2: IU Digital Music Library software. Major duties included writing, designing and maintaining help documentation content (instructional text and graphics) for a number of interface components.

Business Bistro E-commerce Site
I helped build this site as part of a team-based class project in an e-commerce course in spring 2001. The site was used by real students from several countries and schools as part of their information seeking needs for class projects. Our team wrote a business plan; planned, designed and built the site; and corresponded with customers on a daily basis. ColdFusion was used to build our product database. At the end of the semester, the Business Bistro team was declared the winner, garnering the most profits of all groups in the class.

Information Architecture
I worked with a team to rearchitect the website for Internal Medicine Associates (IMA), a local business client. As a testament to the team's diligence in understanding both the audience's and client's information needs, the current IMA website reflects several of the redesign recommendations made by our team.
I also designed and implemented our web-based final report which included a software/hardware inventory, a sociotechnical analysis of the role of the website in the organization, a wireframe analysis of the current site architecture and recommendations for the redesign of the site architecture based on the client's needs and constraints.
